FORMER Premier League striker Adam Le Fondre says he is proud to be a part of FC United of Manchester‘s history.
The 37-year-old had been training with the Red Rebels following his exit from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian
It is the 12th club of his career and the first time he will not be playing as a full-time professional.
Le Fondre, the former Reading and Rotherham United front man, revealed he had been in talks with a number of clubs but opted for FC United to play alongside his close friend, captain Charlie Ennis.
He told the club’s website: “As I was sort of speaking to clubs, a couple of league and a couple of Non-League, nothing really spoke out to me project wise. This has given me the opportunity now to play Non-League.
“FC United of Manchester are a historic club now even with a short history.
“A lot of people know about them and the noise they have made since they have been around. I’m proud to be here.”
