■ HELSTON’S first-ever foray into the FA Trophy resulted in a deserved success at the Loop Meadow against a disappointing Didcot who frittered away an early advantage in tumbling to defeat.
Didcot opened the scoring inside the quarter hour. A Helston player went down injured and the defence stopped, expecting a referee’s whistle. Nothing was forthcoming, Luke Preen picked up possession, rounded keeper Kyle Moore and slotted the ball into the empty net.
