■ JACK Boyle’s stunning volley completed a late comeback and put Pontefract Collieries through at the expense of ten-man Runcorn Linnets. It also made amends for him firing high from the penalty spot.
The Colls, who had conceded 11 goals during defeats on their previous two visits to this ground in FA competitions, trailed at the interval thanks to debutant Lewis Nolan’s strike.
