BASINGSTOKE and Sholing shared the points in an evenly matched game.
The teams traded half-chances early on but the biggest talking point of the opening stages came when home keeper Simon Grant had his kick blocked out of his hands and the ball fell to Sholing’s Dan Mason who, with the goal gaping, went to ground under pressure from Curtis Angell, only for his penalty appeal to subsequently fall on deaf ears.
