RUNCORN Linnets got back to winning ways while becoming the first team this season to shut out in-form Vauxhall Motors.
The game’s decisive moment was in the first half, Taylor Bowen converting a penalty for the visitors after a collision between Jack Atkinson, the hosts’ keeper, and Ryan Brooke that resulted in the forward leaving the field on a stretcher and the former sent off.
At the other end, teenage custodian Tom Myles preserved his side’s lead when he produced his best to save Jake Kirby-Reed’s header.
