LONG’S OFF IN A WOOD CRISIS

IAN LONG claims “multiple broken promises along with unpaid wages” was behind his reason for walking out on Walsall Wood on Friday, thus prompting the postponement of their top-ofthe-table clash at Corby Town yesterday.
The former Alvechurch chief had steered his Wood side to second in the NPL Midlands table after an unbeaten start to the season, picking up 19 points from their opening nine games.
