SOUTHEND UNITED progressed in the FA Cup thanks to a last-gasp winner from Aribim Pepple.
After a cagey cup tie on the south coast, a scrappy stoppage-time winner from Pepple was all that separated the National League Premier sides.
With both sides struggling to set the pace early on, it was Eastleigh who had the first real chance of the game on 18 minutes, Tyrese Shade seeing his one-on-one effort saved well by Shrimpers keeper Collin Andeng-Ndi.
