Shields stop Brakes’ fine unbeaten run

A HEATED clash saw Tom Broadbent deliver South Shields’ first league win in over a month against ten-man Leamington.
The Brakes went into the match unbeaten in the league since August, however it was the home side who took the lead 20 minutes in when a Martin Smith inswinger was met by Broadbent who nodded home at the back post.
Following the goal it was one-way traffic for the Mariners, the hosts fired wide on multiple occasions, continuing to pen the visitors into their own half.
