A SECOND-HALF strike from Bobby Smalls gave Blyth Spartans all three points away at Chester.
The Seals started the day ahead of their Northumberland opponents in the table, though it was the visitors who controlled the game out of the blocks.
A dominant opening 20 minutes set the tone for the Spartans as mesmerising two-touch football unlocked the Cheshire side’s defence. Despite the forward line’s best efforts, it was an own goal which broke the deadlock– a wicked deflection on the half-hour mark giving the Spartans a 1-0 at the break.
