Gateshead 1-3 Boston United: Heed miss their home comforts

HOLDERS Gateshead’s 11th-hour decision to switch their fourth-round tie with Boston United from Tyneside to Teesside backfired as the Pilgrims progressed to the last 16 for the first time this century.
A frozen pitch at the International Stadium saw the Heed utilise Stockton Town’s artificial surface, a neutral venue 40 miles down the road that produced a reduced crowd of just 368.
