■ A KEENLY contested game eventually saw the points shared.
Stalybridge had most of the possession in the first half, without much cutting edge. After 27 minutes, Clitheroe took the lead when Emerich Poilly released Veron Parny on the right and his instant cross was met by the stretching Leon Creech. Parny could have doubled the lead a minute later but skied his shot.
As the clock ticked into injury time, a deep Stalybridge cross caused panic in the Clitheroe defence, leaving Jack Irlam free to nod home the equaliser much to the joy of the travelling Celt...
