SCARBOROUGH left the north west with all three points after a battling performance on the road as Ritchie Bennett’s strike took the spoils.
Experienced goalkeeper Chris Renshaw was called into action in the early stages after pressure from the well-oiled Scarborough attack looked to cause trouble from the off.
The Sandgrounders found their way into the game, testing Ryan Whitley, but it was the visitors who took the lead in the 27th minute.
