GOALKEEPER Danny Potter has left Conference South club Eastbourne Borough – for the second time in less than a year!
Ipswich-based Potter left Priory Lane last September for Ryman Premier side Leiston, but returned in January as player-goalkeeper coach.
The 34-year-old former Stevenage, Cambridge United and Torquay stopper told The NLP that budget cuts on the south-coast have resulted in his latest departure from Tommy Widdrington’s squad.
“It’s disappointing because I’d signed a contract until the end of next season when I went back,” said Potter. “Unfortunately Tom’s hands are tied but I can’t travel down all that way for what was on offer.”
Potter, who started his career at Colchester United and has also played for Weymouth, Exeter, Canvey Island, Newport County and Staines Town, added: “I believe I’ve still got a lot to offer a club.”
