WREXHAM Supporters’ Trust have offered former Dragons manager Dixie McNeil the post of club president.
McNeil, who was in charge of the Welsh club between 1985 and 1989, has accepted the role and is feeling very positive about the future at the Racecourse Ground.
Speaking to the club’s website, the 66-year-old said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be offered the role and will be looking forward to representing the club both home and away during the coming season.
“This fans’ owned club has moved forward so much in the past couple of seasons, both on and off the pitch.
“We had a fantastic cup run ending up victorious at Wembley and were so close to winning promotion at the end.
“Off the pitch there’s a new sense of stability and progress, as we see a new club shop being developed and almost 3,000 fans investing in their own club.
“I’m really proud to be a part of that and hope that this can be the season where we kick on and win promotion.”
