Soares Ruled Out For At Least A Month

United midfielder Louie Soares has been ruled out for up to seven weeks after picking up a knee injury in the club’s final pre-season game.

Soares, 28, joined United for a second spell earlier this summer following his release from Conference Premier club Grimsby Town.

Louie Soares ATHe was injured during a 2-1 win over on August 10 – a game in which he scored United’s winning goal – but his manager Phil Babb has confirmed he will be out of action until early October.

Speaking to the Gazette, Babb said: “Louis is around four to five weeks away from recovery.

“His recovery is accelerating and he wants to get back quickly.

“We will wait for him. We’ve made him an offer and he wants to come on board but it’s down to him and his fitness levels.

“It could be six or seven weeks before we see him in action. He’ll unlock a few doors for us when he is fit though.”
