ALAN LORD has taken temporary charge of Stockport County following the shock departure of Ian Bogie over the weekend.
Bogie quit the Edgeley Park outfit after seeing his side beaten 3-1 by Harrogate Town on Saturday – their fourth defeat in five Skrill North games.
Lord, who had been Bogie’s number two, has spent the past six years with the Hatters, fulfilling a number of different roles.
He spent a short spell in charge of the club when Jim Gannon left in January this year and later took on the position of consultant scout.
Lord has now taken the reins at Edgeley Park again and the club’s chairman, Lord Peter Snape, is grateful to have such an experienced head available to steady the ship.
Speaking to the club’s website, Snape said: “We are delighted that Alan has agreed to take charge of the first team for the foreseeable future.
“The board has pledged to give him every available resource in order to improve the team.”
Lord’s first game in caretaker charge comes at home to Gainsborough Trinity this Saturday.
