Club Stalwart Takes The Reins At Horsham

RYMAN League Division One South strugglers have appointed Gary Charman as their new permanent manager.

Gary CharmanCharman, who is born and raised in the West Sussex market town, took temporary charge of the Hornets following the departure of Simon Colbran last Thursday.

He led the club in their 2-0 defeat to and has now accepted the role on a permanent basis.

The 32-year-old, who scored 156 in 558 games for the club, becomes one of their youngest ever managers after a spell as assistant boss to his predecessor Colbran.

Hornets chairman Kevin Borrett is excited by the appointment and commented: “I’m absolutely delighted that Gary has accepted the role of manager.

“This is a great step for the club, the town, and an example to all local youth footballers that dreams really do come true.”

Horsham, who are 18th in their league, face 15th placed on Saturday afternoon.
