WHITEHAWK duo Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun have been charged in relation to the National Crime Agency’s investigation into match fixing.
The pair, both of whom are 22-years-old, are charged with “conspiracy to defraud contrary to common law”.
They are alleged to have conspired with Krishna Ganeshan and Chann Sankaran, who have already been charged and remain in custody, to “defraud bookmakers by influencing the course of football matches and placing bets thereon” between November 1 and November 26 this year.
Defender Boateng has previously spent time at Newport County, Bristol Rovers and Sutton United, while midfielder Adelakun has been on the books of Crystal Palace and Carshalton Athletic.
Both have been bailed and are scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on December 11.
