Home Is Where The Heart Is For Wilson

GARRY WILSON can’t wait to get back to home comforts tomorrow as his side aim to snap a run of five Ryman Premier games without a win.

The Rooks were leading 3-0 at on Tuesday night but conceded three times in the second-half to go home with just a point.

However, Wilson refused to lay into his players and hopes a return to the Dripping Pan against Dave Anderson’s tomorrow will bring three points.

“The result was disappointing but the performance was exceptional,” the former boss said.

“Of course we’re disappointed with conceding the three goals in the second-half but the way we’re looking at it at the moment, we’ve got to take the good signs.

“We’ve got a very unique set of supporters here. The other week we were playing and were very poor in the first-half.

“Fans can get frustrated and get on the players’ backs but they cheered us out for the second-half and we went on to draw – they gave us a big lift.”

On the chances of tomorrow’s Harrow game going ahead, Wilson added: “The groundsman said yesterday that the pitch was struggling and we had loads of rain last night.

“However they’re saying the pitch looks much better so I’m a bit confused! We’re keeping our fingers crossed and at the moment I’d say it’s 75 per cent on.

“We’ve not played Harrow yet but they had a good result in the cup in midweek. If we can play how I know we can, I fancy us against anybody at home.”
