Ricky Bridge-s The Gap For Chester

manager reckons he has bridged the gap at the troubled left-back position.

The Blues boss has had issues on the left side of defence with Kevin McIntyre and Joe Heath both out but he moved to ease the problem with the signing of Ricky Bridge.

Bridge, 24, joined from NPL Division One South club and made his debut in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Nuneaton.

Burr has a reputation for plucking players from lower divisions and giving them the chance to show what they can do. Jamille Matt and Joe Lolley were both signed by Burr and both left for the League for considerable fees.

Following Bridge’s debut, Burr said: “You have to give special praise to Ricky. He’s been at Newcastle Town all season and has come in to a game like this.

“He just cramped up at the end, which was no surprise given the amount of running he did down the left hand side. He is an exciting talent.”
