THERE could be an all-Step 6 final in the FA Vase at Wembley on May 10 after the two lowest ranked sides avoided each other in the semi-final draw.
The draw, which was made at Wembley this morning, has kept Sussex County League Division Two side Eastbourne United and East Midlands Counties St Andrews away from each other.
Eastbourne beat Ampthill Town 2-1 on Saturday thanks to a Wes Tate double and they will now face Sholing for a trip to Wembley.
The Wessex League Premier side held firm to see off Wisbech Town 1-0 courtesy of Lee Wort and are just 180 minutes from the arch.
Runners up two years ago, West Auckland Town, can put that wrong right still after overcoming the team they lost to at the famous arch.
Dunston UTS beat them 2-0 on the hallowed turf in 2012 but West were the better side on Saturday and Dennis Knight’s strike was enough to see them through.
Peter Dixon’s men will take on the other Step 6 side left in the competition, St Andrews. The Drews beat Northern League outfit Newcastle Benfield 1-0 through Declan Towers and the Leicestershire side continue to defy the odds.
The first legs will take place on Saturday, March 29 with the return games a week later on Saturday, April 5.
