WE COULDN’T have had a better advert for National League football than the entertainment served up by Wrexham and Notts County at the end of last month.
It was the only live TV game that Bank Holiday Monday evening. I had messages from people who may not normally have watched 90 minutes of Non-League’s top flight.
The feeling was how much they enjoyed it – and how surprised they were at the level of football.
Let’s make no bones about it, some people who don’t follow it closely have a perception that the National League is a non-professional league.
