FORMER Sawbridgeworth Town player Aidan Chaves threatened opposing Clapton fans with a corkscrew, magistrates heard.
Chaves, 26, was angry that a spectator had spat at him and charged into his team’s dressing room, emerging with the corkscrew and running at the fan to threaten him with it.
The game on March 25 was abandoned in the 92nd minute as a result.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of an offensive weapon. A second charge involving a Section 4 Public Order offence was dropped.
The case was adjourned until August 10 for sentence.
