BRADFORD PARK AVENUE have been given the go ahead for improvements at their Horsfall Stadium home.
The Vanarama National League North side have obtained planning permission for two new temporary stands which should be up and running in early December.
It’s hoped the new stands will help the atmosphere at Avenue games and improve attendances with the club actively seeking to upgrade the Horsfall Stadium.
Avenue are also hoping to convert to a Community Benefit Society with more and more Non-League clubs going down the community-owned route.
Bradford-born oil billionaire Gareth Roberts, who took over the club in January, said: “There will be one stand initially at the Cemetery Rd end for standing fans and one seated hospitality stand by the pavilion.
“These stands can be dismantled and moved as needed but will be a big improvement in the atmosphere at games, provide much needed cover and comfort for our wheelchair supporters, and hopefully will improve attendances.
“Meanwhile, the club continues to have discussions with Bradford Council about a long term lease at the stadium along with other further improvements.
“An essential part of these discussions is our plan to convert the club to a Community Benefit Society similar to the successful model of FCUM and others.
“This will give everyone a share and voice in the club and as important give us access to charitable funding streams to support future development of the club and the stadium.”
