North Ferriby United put up for sale

UNITED have been put up for sale with co-owner Steve Forster’s recent neurosurgery meaning he and wife Eman “can no longer invest time into the club”.

The pair, son-in-law and daughter of Hull City owner Assem Allam, took control of the club in November 2013 and oversaw the win at last season.

The Villagers have narrowly missed out on promotion from the and are in the hunt again, sitting fifth before Saturday’s game at .

Rumours swirled at the end of last season that the Forsters were looking to leave the club and it was briefly put up for sale before they confirmed their commitment to the club last July.

However, United are once again looking for new owners with Steve’s recent neurosurgery and the subsequent road to recovery making it difficult for them to find time for the club.

A statement from the owners read: “It is with much sadness that we announce that North Ferriby United is for sale with immediate effect.

“The last three-and-a-half years have been a wonderful journey with our day out at Wembley last March being one of our proudest achievements and a day that will live with us forever.

“Unfortunately, Steve has undergone neurosurgery recently and whilst it has been successful, he has a long period of treatment and recovery ahead of him and therefore we feel that we can no longer invest time into the club as we focus on Steve’s recovery as well as looking after our children during this period.

“Our hope is that in the coming weeks and months we will be able to find new owners who can continue to take the club forward.

“We would like to thank everyone involved with North Ferriby United, especially the club’s loyal supporters. We hope we leave the club with foundations to achieve even more in the future.”
