FORMER Redditch United and Kidderminster Harriers boss Gary Whild is back in Non-League‘s top tier as assistant manager at Solihull Moors.
Whild served as assistant at Kiddy under Steve Burr from 2010 to 2014 and then took over as manager after Burr had been sacked.
He left Aggborough in September after a tough start to the National League season but he now returns to football with newly promoted Solihull.
The Moors led the National League North from start to finish and boss Marcus Bignot has moved to add some experience to his backroom staff.
Whild said: “After enjoying a successful time at Kidderminster Harriers, I’m looking forward to working with a young, bright, ambitious manager and I intend to help him and the club in any way possible.
“I’ve known Marcus for a while and I’m confident that I can help him to establish Solihull Moors in the National League.”
Current assistant manager Simon Redhead will now focus on the role of football operations within the club and boss Bignot believes the addition of Whild will be key.
“I am delighted that we have been given the opportunity to further develop the infrastructure at the club by appointing Gary Whild in a full-time capacity to the management team here,” Bignot added.
“In order to develop and prepare the club for the transition into the National League and for what is expected and required at that level, having Gary on board will benefit everyone concerned including myself, the staff and the players.”
