Corby Town Add Experienced Pair

FORMER Northampton Town duo Jason Crowe and Andy Holt have signed for .

Right-back Crowe started out at Arsenal but didn’t make a first team appearance before being released in 1999.

The 33-year-old then joined Portsmouth and went on to feature over 80 times in four years prior to linking up with Grimsby Town.

Two seasons with the Mariners were following by a move to Northampton. He was a regular in their side for four years but turned down a deal in the summer of 2009 and joined Leeds United.

He remained with the Lilywhites until January 2011 when he moved to . However, after a few months with the O’s he returned to Northampton and stayed there for the duration of the 2012/13 season.

Holt, 34, began his career with and played in excess of 100 games for the Latics.

He left them in 2001 and has since Hull, and the Cobblers, for whom he has made over 200 appearances in the past six years.

Speaking about his latest signings, Corby boss Ian Sampson told the club’s website: “I am absolutely delighted with the additions. It goes without saying that their experience will be invaluable this year if we can get them in the team every game.

“Circumstances have helped in bringing these two in with their great ability. They are coming to the end of their professional careers now and in that respect we have been lucky to get them. They are both local lads and their personal lives have allowed us to bring them in.

“Hopefully the squad can gain a lot from having them around for guidance and advice. I know Andy is a great talker.

Jason is a bit quieter, but his performances certainly set an example and the way he looks after his body should rub off on the rest of the team.”
