ALFRETON TOWN have secured the signing of experienced former Nottingham Forest and Notts County striker Craig Westcarr.
The 31-year-old joins the Reds after leaving League Two outfit Mansfield Town at the end of last season.
He scored four times for the Stags before being sent out on loan to National League side Southport at the beginning of March.
Westcarr scored twice in 11 appearances for the Sandgrounders but will be returning to his native East Midlands with Alfreton next season.
After starting his career with hometown club Nottingham Forest, Westcarr dropped into Non-League with Cambridge United and then Kettering Town in May 2006.
He helped the Poppies to the Conference North title in 2007-08 under Mark Cooper and famously scored twice against Fulham in an FA Cup fourth round tie in 2009.
After leaving Kettering, he went on to play in the Football League for Notts County, Chesterfield, Walsall and Portsmouth before moving to Mansfield.
