KRIS GATE has left Harrogate Town after less than a month with the Blue Square Bet North club.
The midfielder joined Town after being released by Conference Premier outfit Gateshead earlier this summer but has now decided to quit the CNG Stadium to focus on doing a plumbing course.
Speaking about Gate’s departure, Town boss Simon Weaver said: “Kris is a good lad and I respect his decision and we are better off knowing the situation now rather than having an on-going problem throughout the season.
“We wish him the best of success. I have made it clear to all the lads that we don’t want want any negatives in people’s minds when they enter the club, for whatever reason.
“If we can help players in any way we will, however, in factors beyond our control such as the travelling, then we cannot change the dynamics.”
