ALEX MEECHAN has been named caretaker manager of Barrow following the departure of David Bayliss.
Bayliss left Holker Street by mutual consent on Tuesday morning, bringing to an end a seven-year relationship with the club.
Meechan, who had been player/coach of the Bluebirds under Bayliss, will take training on Tuesday evening.
The 33-year-old forward is vastly experienced as a player, having made over 350 senior appearances, and has previously held the post of assistant manager at AFC Telford United.
