HARRY WHEELER has been tasked with keeping St Albans City in the National League South after the club confirmed he will remain in charge until the end of the season.
Wheeler was put in caretaker charge of first team affairs after joint-bosses James Gray and Graham Golds quit at the end of November.
The Saints have won two of his seven National League South fixtures in charge, lost two and drawn the other four to leave them just two points adrift of safety.
And Wheeler has been given a vote of confidence by the St Albans board after they confirmed he would be in charge for the remainder of the campaign.
Adam Lee has come on board as the Saints’ director of football and Tom Norman has been appointed the club’s new football secretary.
A club statement read: “St Albans City Football Club is pleased to confirm that Harry Wheeler will continue in his role as first team manager of the club until the end of the season. Mark Boyce, Rhys Thom and Sam Backhouse will also continue as his backroom staff.
“The club is also pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Lee as director of football. Adam has a wealth of management experience along with a strong knowledge of playing matters and contacts. His remit will be to oversee all football business matters on behalf of the chairman and club owners.
“Other matters include Tom Norman now officially being appointed football secretary and will assume this role along side his commercial activities.
“The first priority of the team is to make sure the club maintains its status in National League South and the owners and chairman believe that keeping continuity along with adding experience to the management team is essential to achieving this goal.”
