WELLING UNITED boss Mark Goldberg has finalised the signing of former AFC Wimbledon, Grimsby Town and Aldershot man Sam Hatton.
Hatton, who can play in defence or midfield, is also an ex-England C international and joins Welling having recently spent time on trial at Boreham Wood.
The 28-year-old, who will be dropping down to the National League South, has plenty of experience in Non-League‘s top tier.
He made his name during a five year spell with AFC Wimbledon, making over 200 appearances while helping the club into the Football League in 2011.
Grimsby was Hatton’s next port of call and he played 49 National League games over two seasons for the Mariners before signing for Aldershot two summers ago.
He made 31 appearances for Aldershot last term, scoring three times, but left at the end of the season. He joins a Wings side that are hoping for an instant return to Non-League’s top division following a disappointing campaign that ended in relegation.
