JAMIE COYLE has been tipped to succeed in his first reign in management after being appointed as the man in charge of .

Coyle, who departed earlier in the week, was named Wings manager with former Stones, Welling and midfielder Jack Parkinson joining him as player-coach while Tristan Lewis remains at the club as director of .

Coyle made almost 100 appearances for the Stones, winning the supporters’ player-of-the-year award in 2015-16 as the Stones reached the through the National League South play-offs with a thrilling final win against .

The Wings finished 16th last season in the National League South following relegation from ‘s top flight.

And they will be hoping Coyle – who will continue in his role as a coach/tutor at the Maidstone United Football Academy – can get the club looking up again and his former boss Jay Saunders says he has all the qualities needed to do well.

The Maidstone chief said: “I can’t speak highly enough of Coyley. His presence on and off the pitch has had a massive influence in where the club is today.

“The experience, organisation and calmness he brought to the team during the past two seasons have been a major factor in the success we’ve had.”
