SALISBURY CITY have slipped to second place in the Conference South after having a point deducted from their tally.
The Whites were hit with the one-point penalty this week after they were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their 2-2 draw with AFC Hornchurch on January 12.
The player in question was Exeter City loanee Elliott Frear, picture below, who had agreed to renew his stay with the Whites but confirmation of this was not received by the Football Conference ahead of the match.
The club have also been fined £100 for the breach of Conference Rules.
Darrell Clarke’s side now sit second in the Blue Square Bet South, behind leaders Welling on goal difference alone but having played two games more than the Wings.
Salisbury City face Weston-super-Mare at home on Saturday afternoon, a game you can read all about in Sunday’s edition of The Non-League Paper.
