STRIKER Jon Main has joined Thamesmead Town following his departure from Conference South champions Welling United.
Main made most of his appearances for the Wings off the bench last season, coming on as a substitute in 22 of the 28 games he featured in.
He scored six times in those matches but, while the Wings are moving up a division, Main has decided to drop one to join Thamesmead in the Ryman Premier League.
The Mead won promotion to Step 3 via the play-off last season and will compete at that level for the first time in their history in 2013/14.
Meanwhile, Welling have handed a new one-year deal to their longest-serving player, Loui Fazakerley.
Fazakerley has been at Park View Road since November 2008 and Wings boss Jamie Day is delighted he’s staying on.
Day told the club’s website: “I’m delighted that Loui has signed a new deal.
“He brings added versatility to the squad and a great work ethic, and I know the fans will be delighted that he is staying with us in the Conference Premier.”
