SIMON LANE has left his position as first-team coach at Maidenhead United to pursue a return to full-time football.
Lane has worked for the Magpies since 2010 and the club’s manager, Johnson Hippolyte, paid tribute to his contribution while at York Road.
Speaking to the Maidenhead Advertiser, Hippolyte said: “We wish him all the best.
“Simon is one of the top coaches in our league and it’s been great to have him.
“We always knew he wanted to go back into full-time coaching at some point so we both felt this was the right time.
“He has a full level A coaching license and also has an academy license, he is more qualified than most in the league.
“He wants to go full-time and we can’t stand in the way of his ambition. We would like to thank him for the two-and-a-half years service he has given us.”
