Darren Lok Lands Eastbourne Borough Contract

have handed youngster Darren Lok a contract running until the end of the Blue Square Bet South season.

The frontman made his second appearance of the season for the Sports on Saturday, coming on as a 63rd-minute substitute for Charles Ademeno.

And Lok duly delivered the goods, netting the only goal in the Sports’ 1-0 success over with just six minutes of the game remaining.

However, Borough boss Tommy Widdrington says the decision to give the forward a permanent deal was not a knee-jerk reaction to his match-winning strike at the weekend.

Speaking to the club’s website, Widdrington said: “We agreed this deal prior to Saturday’s game.

“Darren is a great example of a young player who has shown in pre-season and up to now through the league campaign all the attributes required to contribute to our season and indeed to develop further.

“It is important that young players at Priory Lane can see a route through the clubs structure ultimately to the 1st XI squad and a contract. Darren is the latest to have followed that path and we are delighted to have him on board.”
