Magpies Make Clough Available For A Move

have “reluctantly accepted” a transfer request from defender Charlie Clough.

Clough, 22, started his career at League club Bristol Rovers but was frequently loaned out during his five years with the Pirates.

After spells with Mangotsfield, Chippenham, Newport, , Bath and AFC Telford he was eventually released by Rovers and signed for Dorchester last summer.

Charlie CloughHe enjoyed a highly successful 2012/13 Conference South season at the Avenue and was rewarded with an improved contract as the campaign drew to a close.

However, the Taunton-born player has now made it clear he wants to fly the Magpies’ nest and the club have agreed to place him on the transfer list.

A statement on the club’s website confirmed the news, saying: “The club will entertain only those offers that match the club’s valuation of the player.

“The club wish to stress that despite well documented financial restraints in place this season, the club has no desire to sell our best players and will look to strengthen the team in the coming weeks.”
