MARK HAWKES and Steve Smith have left Heybridge Swifts to take over as the new management team at Chelmsford City.
Manager Hawkes and his assistant Smith have guided the Swifts to second place in Ryman League Division One North this term.
They have now stepped up two divisions to take the helm at the Melbourne Stadium, succeeding Dean Holdsworth, who parted company with the Clarets last month.
Chelmsford’s last four games have been overseen by Kenny Brown, and the club paid tribute to him in a statement on their website.
The statement read: “Chelmsford City Football Club would like to take this time to place on record their sincere thanks and gratitude to Kenny Brown who stepped up from the club’s assistant Manager to caretaker manager for four matches.
“The club would like to wish Kenny the very best in the future and would like to thank him for his efforts over the course of the season.”
