(IN THE MONEY: Fantasy League winner Jon Dale)
Jon Dale is well and truly in the Big Bucks after scooping a cool £2,000 in our Fantasy Non-League competition.
The 38-year-old is a regular supporter of the Bucks from AFC Telford United and is now reaping the benefits in his bank balance too after landing the FNL first prize for a second time.
Jon, an accountant, put his 2017-18 success down to punts taken on Billericay Town and South Shields and already has a plan in place when it comes to defending his title in 2018-19.
“I think Hereford will be my bankers next season,” the father-of-two revealed. “There always seems to be a team on a fast progression through the leagues and it seems Hereford and South Shields are those clubs right now.
“I’ve entered a team in Fantasy Non-League every year since it’s started and I’ve always done okay, to be honest. I won it about ten years ago and have finished second, too. I don’t know what the secret is really, I seem to have that knack I suppose.”
So, will AFC Telford be one of Jon’s picks for 2018-19?
“Probably not, to be honest,” he smiled. “They haven’t done so well in recent seasons and National League North just seems to get tougher and tougher every year.
“They’ll do well just to avoid a relegation dogfight, but hopefully my bit of luck can rub off on them next season.”
Fantasy League returns in July!
