ERNO Egri Erbstein may not be a household football name in this country. But the Hungarian Holocaust survivor left a lasting legacy to the game.
Manager of the great Grande Torino side of the 1940s that won five consecutive championships in Italy, he introduced modern tactics, methods of management and training that changed coaching forever.
Tragically, he was killed, along with nearly all the Torino team, in a plane crash in 1949, aged just 50.
