WELCOME to the latest update of Fantasy Non-League 2015/16. Today’s update covers the period Sunday 17th January 2016 through to Saturday 23rd January 2016.
I am pleased to announce that all your changes have been implemented. You can tell that your changes have been made because you will have [S] after your team name. If you don’t have this after your team name and you have sent them in, please get in contact with the FNL Helpdesk.
One of the things that makes this competition so very special to me is the interaction I receive from you the players. I have some of you setting up mini-leagues and you play for your own trophies and I have even heard of arranged presentation evenings at the end of the FNL season. Husbands and wives do battle, with the wives quite often coming out on top.
I have several of you who actual register all the points each week and are soon on the telephone or e-mailing me to tell me of my mistake. Another thing that I also hear quite often from you is the fact that this competition has opened up your knowledge of our great Non-League world.
This week I have received a spreadsheet from one of you. It lists who have been the top teams in each of the seven leagues week by week from the start of the FNL season. It must have taken some work so thank you for that. So I thought in today’s update we would take a look at who has been top team of the week most in each league.
In the National League Premier, Cheltenham Town have been the top team of the week five times. Forest Green Rovers and Eastleigh have managed it three times. In the National League North, it is quite different a total of 19 teams out of the 22 that make up the league have been top team of the week with AFC Fylde topping it with four times.
In the National League South four teams have been top team of the week three times. They are Ebbsfleet Utd, Maidstone Utd, Sutton Utd and finally Whitehawk. The Evo-Stik Northern Premier Blyth Spartans have done it a total of five times and Stourbridge have totalled four.
Next up is the Ryman Premier, Enfield Town have topped the week four times and Hampton & Richmond three times. In the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Chippenham Town have done it four times, Biggleswade Town and Hitchin Town three times and rather surprisingly Poole Town only once and they had to wait sixteen weeks for that.
Finally, The Mixture, this league has the team in it with the most weekly top scores and that is Northwich Victoria who have done it seven times. No one else has made it any higher than twice.
