WELCOME to the latest update of Fantasy Non-League 2016/17. Today’s update covers the seven-day period Sunday 12th March 2017 through to Saturday 18th March 2017.
I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of March 2017. That means we are fast approaching the end of yet another FNL season. Running this competition which I love doing certainly makes the football season flyby. It is especially good when my own teams are not doing well during the season. Both my teams Arsenal and more importantly Weymouth are not having great sea- sons. But this great competition really helps me forget about the ups and downs of both the Gunners and the Terras.
Do you think it is easier to select your teams to win the competition or finish bottom? I myself have always thought that pick- ing teams to finish bottom was the hardest to achieve. What do you think? Leading the main FNL League at the moment is Carry On Dick. They have a 101-point lead over second placed Jennie’s Allstars and a 214-point lead over third placed City Exiles. The top ten teams is currently covered by 580 points so it is going to be an interesting run in.
So, who is going to win the wooden spoon this season? The spoon is of course worth a £100. At the bottom, currently is Richard’s Losers who has 6,569pts and is at the moment 105pts adrift from his nearest rival DeeJay Losers. The bottom ten teams are covered by 640pts. So, the run in for bottom spot is also still wide open.
In next week’s update we will take a quick look at who is in the running for the March 2017 Manager of the Month and also take our first look at the end of season run in and details.
