IN past seasons of the Fantasy Non- League I have been asked why the teams leading the leagues in the FNL aren’t always not doing so well in their respective leagues in the real world.
In fact, a while back, we had a team that was well down its league but a good 40 points ahead of everybody else! So, this week I thought I would take a look at who is leading the FNL leagues and where they currently stand in their respective division.
The Blue Square Bet Premier is a classic example. Luton Town, currently in seventh place, are 32 points ahead of Grimsby Town, who lead the division.
But Luton are leading the way due to their great FA Cup run and reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy.
In five of the six other leagues the FNL leaders and real world leaders are the same.
The Mixture is a completely different story. This FNL league is made up of four teams from six different leagues and not one of The Mixture’s 24 teams lead their respective divisions.
Today’s update covers Sunday February 3 to Saturday February 9.
The top three teams in the February 2013 Manager of the Month are as follows:
1. Meerkatts Utd 616pts (1,128pts)
2. INV Col 1615pts (754th)
3. More Briggers 612pts (49th)
Here are the top five teams who have scored the most points over the past seven days.
1 Al’s Hopefulls No4 459pts (1,022nd) ; 2 Run Of The Mill 442pts (692nd), 3 Blacon Hardy 437pts (19th), 4 Quintessentials 437pts (415th), 5 Loud EFC 436pts (442nd).
The bottom team over the last seven days is GetRidOfIt 83pts (1,607th), while the top team is Dulwich Hamlet with 63 points.
