Dulwich Hamlet Boss Gavin Rose Plays Down Scrap

manager Gavin Rose played down a bizarre post-match exchange between two of his senior players at on Saturday.

Captain Peter Adeniyi and midfielder Kevin James took aim at each other during the warm down following the club’s valiant point at run-away leaders Wealdstone.

The pair had to be pulled apart as the squad stretched off – leaving team-mates and the remaining supporters in the ground lost for words.

Dulwich came from 2-0 down to snatch a point after two long-range goals and manager Gavin Rose refused to let the ugly incident mar a good afternoon for his team.

“I think it was over-spill from our first half performance,” he told . “I’d have preferred that to happen in the privacy of our dressing room, don’t get me wrong, but it’s and things happen sometimes. It got out of hand but it was over pretty soon.

“It didn’t take the gloss off our comeback. It was a fantastic effort from our boys against the side that will surely go on to win it.

“It may be the play-offs for us, but with commitment like that we have a chance. The team have showed spirit. Wealdstone will go on to win the league soon I am sure but we need to go into the final five weeks of the season in good form.”
