Football Foundation April column – Hat-trick of glory for North Ferriby

UNITED are celebrating a brilliant treble this season.

After claiming a dramatic victory over in a thrilling Final recently, the Conference North club have also been beneficiaries of two major improvement projects at their EON Visual Media Stadium home, thanks to two separate grants from the Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).

On the back of the biggest win in the club’s history, news they had received two grants worth a combined £88,660 from the FSIF was welcomed by the club’s chairman of over 20 years, Les Hare.

“Everyone involved in the club was absolutely over the moon to win our first ever FA Trophy, and this delight has only been added to with the news of FSIF grants,” said Hare.

The funding for the Villagers includes a grant of £26,975 to go towards the construction of catering facilities, additional turnstiles and spectator toilets, with the five-week construction period already underway.

A further £61,685 will go towards a first floor extension to the clubhouse and improvements to the existing covered stand.

“We cannot thank the Football Stadia Improvement Fund enough for their continued support,” said Hare. “Needless to say, without the continued developments over the years at our football ground, the club would not have achieved the level it has done in regards to its facilities.”

The changes to the current covered stand at North Ferriby United are to fulfil Grade B of The FA National Ground Grading Criteria, and it is hoped that this improvement, as well as the others at the club, will hold the potential to increase revenue streams and therefore contribute to the club’s long-term sustainability.
