Bashley finally get on the board in their 27th game

THEY may have endured an absolutely miserable season so far but there may be better times around the corner for after they picked up their first point of the season!

Bash had lost all 26 of their League Southern Division One South & West games before Tuesday night’s visit of .

With 124 goals conceded this season, a clean sheet looked unlikely. Luckily for the New Forest club, that’s exactly what they got!

Their record of just nine goals scored in 27 games didn’t matter too much as the Bash defence managed to shut out Mangotsfield and pick up the club’s first point of the campaign. They are, however, still 20 points adrift of safety.

Bashley have followed in the footsteps of Evo-Stik NPL Division One North club , who recently picked up their first point of the season.

Boss Tom Prodomo said: “We were really organised, which is something we’ve worked really hard on.

“It’s a nice moment for the club in recent times. Not just for players and coaches, but for all the guys around the club who give up their time to prepare the pitch, sort out the bar and the clubhouse.

“I think we’ll enjoy the moment for sure, but we need to make sure this is the first of many good nights for the rest of the season.”
