WREXHAM boss Andy Morrell says the Blue Square Bet Premier promotion hopefuls aren’t in contention to sign AFC Wimbledon forward Christian Jolley.
Jolley has been a target for Forest Green Rovers and Luton Town after a successful loan spell at Newport County, who had offered a total of £20,000 for the 24-year-old who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Rovers and the Hatters were understood to have been prepared to pay £25,000 with a further £5,000 if he helped them win promotion, although Luton announced last week they were no longer interested after talks with the player.
Reports had suggested Wrexham had entered the running, but Morrell told The NLP: “I just spoke to people down there to see what was going on more than anything, and to see what other people were chucking around.
“I don’t think we’ll be able to go that far. We haven’t got that (money).”
