MACCLESFIELD TOWN have drafted in Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Joe Anyon to deputise for the injured Lance Cronin.
Cronin, who has made over 25 appearances between the sticks this term, is thought to have broken his thumb in training and will be out of action for some time.
Anyon was part of the Blackburn Rovers youth ranks before moving to Port Vale in 2003.
His first taste of senior football came while on loan at Stafford Rangers and he later spent time on loan with another Non-League outfit, Harrogate Town.
The 26-year-old got his first opportunity at for the Valiants first team in 2006 and went on to make over 100 appearances in their colours.
He joined Lincoln City in the summer of 2010 and remained with the Imps until July last year when he returned to the Football League with Shrewsbury.
Anyon has only featured once for the Shrews to date and will use his spell with the Silkmen to get a run of games under his belt.
He goes straight into their squad to face Wigan Athletic in the Fourth Round of The FA Cup tomorrow.
