LUTON TOWN have drafted in another defender in the former of free agent Wayne Thomas.
The former Torquay, Stoke City, Burnley, Southampton and Doncaster man arrives on a deal running until the end of the season.
Thomas, 33, once moved for a fee in excess of £1m and has played in the highest professional division in Greece over the past two years.
Hatters boss Paul Buckle feels he is exactly the kind of character needed at the club as the look to secure a return to the Football League.
Speaking to the club’s website, Buckle said: “Wayne is a fantastic professional who has enjoyed a great career and we are positive that his infectious enthusiasm for the game will rub off on the group here.
“He has played at a very good level for the whole of his career and has the necessary attributes to become a very important member of this squad.
“Wayne can play at right-back or centre-half and with the amount of games we have coming up between now and the end of the season it was vital we bring in another man because we are going to be stretched.
“He is another voice, another winner and is more than capable of playing at a much higher level still.”
